Carson's may redo flagship

As other retailers are making their move on State Street, Carson Pirie Scott & Co. is considering redevelopment of unused portions of its flagship retail store, the company confirmed Monday.

Ed Carroll Jr., Carson's executive vice president of marketing, said Carson's has been in discussions with Wheeling developer Joseph Freed & Associates, with which Carson's has worked in recent years.

He declined to say whether Carson's is considering a lease-back arrangement at State Street along the lines that Joseph Freed and Carson's signed for Edens Plaza in Wilmette in 1994.
