Sacajawea earns place in history
|
For many, her name might not jump to mind when it comes to
notable American women. Not like a Susan B. Anthony, say, or a Betsy
Ross.
There are few portraits of her - and the ones that exist are
little more than figments of the artists' imagination, their ideas of
what she might have looked like.
Few can even agree on the spelling of her name.
In short, she is, in many ways, a woman of mystery, a vague
recollection, a forgotten lesson from history class.
