Mount Carmel fumbled seven times Friday, had a punt blocked and
threw two interceptions. The Caravan trailed Joliet Catholic 10-0
after one quarter and for four quarters looked like anything but the
area's No. 1 team.
"That was the poorest excuse for the top-rated team that I've
seen in a long time," Mount Carmel coach Frank Lenti said. "It was a
horrendous performance on our part."
But a trick play and a fluke TD pass, coupled with a stubborn
push by the Caravan defens...
