The well-armed Kerry Wood fan might want to add a new piece of
equipment to the essential kit of cardboard K's and "We Got Wood"
T-shirts with the big K on the back.
A hand clicker.
You know, one of those little counters that ticket-takers use.
The purpose? To keep track of Wood's pitch count, which Cubs
manager Jim Riggleman keeps between 120 and 130.
For example, when Wood pitches today against the New York Mets,
fans with clickers will be able to predict exactly when their hero
will be pulled from the game. One hundred pitches means Wood
probably won't last more than one inning ...
