Early on June 21, 1877, 10 Irish coal miners went to the gallows
in Pennsylvania for the murders of several mine bosses. To the end,
they insisted on their innocence.
Those men passed into history as "the Molly Maguires," but their
wives soldiered on, struggling to survive. Their untold stories
inspired playwright Deborah "Lou" Randall's performance piece, "Are
You a Daughter of Molly Maguire?" staged by the Venus Theatre.
