Bertolt Brecht's birthday party // Festival and cabaret show to mark 100th

It's time to give a raucous cheer and pass around some vile-smelling cigars. That's because this month marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of German playwright Bertolt Brecht. And if you're going to celebrate the occasion, why not do so in the spirit of the man himself?

Brecht, the author of 20th century theatrical classics such as "The Threepenny Opera," "Mother Courage and Her Children," "The Caucasian Chalk Circle" and "The Good Person of Szechwan," was born in Bavaria on Feb. 10, 1898, and died in 1956.
