Saturday marks the anniversary of the death of Chef Louis
Szathmary, who died last year at the age of 77. Chef Louis ran one
of Chicago's most famous restaurants, the Bakery, in Lincoln Park
from 1962 to 1989, when he retired.
This story, written by a longtime friend and former employee,
recalls the life and culinary contributions of this Hungarian-
trained
psychologist-turned-celebrity-chef.
