Nuclear waste bill melts once-fearless GOP
|
As once-ferocious Republican leaders beat a hasty retreat on all
fronts in the dying days of the 104th Congress, legislative
casualties soon will include a bill to dispose of nuclear waste and
save atomic energy for the nation.
"It's not totally dead, but it's on life support," a backer of
the bill told me.
