Former Ald. Juan Soliz smiled with relief in his lawyer's
office Thursday, an hour after hearing that he had been cleared of
cocaine possession charges.
He wasn't angry about the damage to his reputation, he said.
"I have no ill feelings. I knew I was innocent. But people are
so quick to prejudge," said Soliz, the first Mexican American elected
to the Illinois House. He is now 25th Ward Democratic committeeman.
