A North Korean brick factory worker completed a daring escape to the South today by swimming down a river to the sea, a Seoul Defense Ministry official said. Choi Seung Chang was picked up in waters near the South Korean-held island of Kanghwa in the Imjin River estuary on Korea's western coast.
