WASHINGTON Five artists - including Chicago ballet dancer Maria
Tallchief, actor Jack Lemmon and country singer Johnny Cash - are
being honored by the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts for their
lifetime contributions to the nation's culture.
Other honorees include Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Edward
Albee and saxophone player and composer Benny Carter.
Their lifetime of work will be honored at a performance to be
