GETTING THERE: Alaska Airlines has daily jet service year-round
between Anchorage and Nome.
Almost half of Nome's more than 17,000 visitors last year
traveled there on their own. Others joined tour packages from
Anchorage.
Two-day, one-night Alaska Airlines package tours, featuring both
Nome and the Eskimo community of Kotzebue, are priced at $543 single;
$469 a person, double. Prices include round-trip airfare,
sightseeing both in Nome and Kotzebue, and one night's lodging either
in Nome or Kotzebue.
