Morton Closes In On Regional Title
|
Morton stepped past Oak Lawn 56-36 Monday in Berwyn to open
regional play in the St. Ignatius Sectional.
The Mustangs (21-4) will try to win the school's first regional
Thursday against Queen of Peace, which beat Maria 57-43.
Morton has surpassed its record for season victories, which was
17.
"We have been trying to step along," first-year Morton coach
John Molitor said. "We've got to Thursday night."
Andrea Filipek led Morton with 26 points. Barb Antol had 10 for
Oak Lawn (10-15).
