A section of Bryn Mawr Avenue has been designated a national historic district for buildings dating back to the 1920s and 1930s.

The area along Bryn Mawr Avenue east of Broadway, in the heart of Edgewater, includes a collection of architecturally significant buildings, according to Tina Travlos, chairperson of the Bryn Mawr Task Force.

The National Register of Historic Places listing is expected to spark interest in redevelopment of Bryn Mawr, she said.
