COLOMBO, Sri Lanka Prime Minister Chandrika Bandaranaike
Kumaratunga was headed for victory today over challenger Srima
Dissanayake, who replaced her assassinated husband on the ballot.
The results from official sources came as ballot counting began
for Wednesday's election. State-owned Rupavahini television said
Kumaratunga led with 65 percent of the vote.
Sources said Kumaratunga, the ruling People's Alliance
candidate, won a majority in the Badulla and Matara districts...
