Sea Cloud is an elegant grande dame with a past lived under assorted aliases. Launched in 1931 during the depths of the global Great Depression, the world's largest sailing yacht has seen eras of oceangoing glory and periods of humbling neglect as well. Here's a brief biography:

1931: Built for just over a million Depression-era dollars at Krupp's Germania Werke in Kiel, Germany, to a design by world-renowned naval architects Gibbs and Cox, the four-masted barque is launched as the Hussar. It's the fifth of Wall Street tycoon E.F. Hutton's luxury yachts to carry that name.
