Drivers Rev Up for Kids // Lathrop Boys and Girls Club Is the Winner

Those daring young men and their racing machines converged on the 17th National Driving Championship recognition dinner benefitting the Lathrop Chicago Boys and Girls Club. The dinner was organized by True Value's Dan Cotter in 1977 to honor Gordon Johncock, the 1976 national driving champion.

This year's dinner at the Chicago Marriott had Cotter serving as chairman for the 17th time, hosted 13 drivers, displayed five cars and featured Paul Page, voice of the Indy 500, and Barney Parsons, voice of National Association of Stock Car Automobile Racing on ESPN.
