Ethnic, religious riots kill 300 in northern Nigerian city

KADUNA, Nigeria Mortuaries overflowed with corpses in this
northern Nigerian city Tuesday after two days of ethnic and
Christian-Muslim violence killed up to 300 people.
"It was terrible. People were killed as if they were dogs,"
said one businessman, caught in some of Nigeria's worst rioting in a
decade.
Soldiers and police patrolled almost deserted streets littered
with debris from wrecked cars and from stores, religious meeting
houses and other buildings razed by fire.
