The joke is never as funny the second time around.

The 1984 rockumentary "This Is Spinal Tap" was a hilarious and long-overdue parody of a talentless but very loud heavy-metal band. A surprise hit, it spawned a forgettable album and book, an appearance by the fictitious band on "Saturday Night Live" and a worldwide tour, which stopped in Chicago at Cabaret Metro.

The movie developed a devoted cult: Almost every rock band has at least one member who can quote long stretches of dialogue verbatim.
