Even with Pete Weber bowling next to her and Dick Weber and Carmen Salvino in the audience, the lanes belonged to Anne Marie Duggan.

Duggan, of La Habra, Calif., rolled a contest record 724 Wednesday to set target scores for women in the 31st annual Chicago Sun-Times/BPA Beat The Champions.

Pete Weber, of Florissant, Mo., bowled 668 to set the standard for the men entrants.

It was the third appearance by a Weber family member in Beat The Champions. Pete's father Dick Weber set targets in 1965 (572) and 1966 (663).
