Irv Lieberman, leading floor covering dealer

Irv Lieberman, 63, a west suburban floor covering dealer who was known "as one of the industry greats," died of cancer Sunday at Hinsdale Hospital.

In 1974, Mr. Lieberman was founder and principal shareholder of Georgia Carpets, 229 W. Ogden, Westmont. The business is now operated by his sons.

For each of the last nine years, he achieved Master Dealer status with Monsanto and the similar Vanguard Top Echelon Dealer status of Du Pont Fibers.
