Spiegel takes Crayola Kids on retail route

Can Spiegel Inc. succeed where Sears, Roebuck and Co. failed?
The Oak Brook-based catalog company Wednesday said it will open
its first Crayola Kids retail store at Schaumburg's Woodfield Mall in
August, "the first of many" stores it will open as part of its
marketing agreement with Binney & Smith, maker of the well-known
crayon brand.
Crayola Kids-label clothing began selling Wednesday in Spiegel's
fall catalog. Its own catalog will debut in the spring.
