Fact: 10 of the Chicago area's top 12 football prospects for 1990 already have met requirements for Proposition 48.

Fact: 44 of the nation's top 50 football prospects in 1989 qualified.

Fact: 18 of the top 50 basketball prospects in the nation in 1989-90 didn't qualify.

Fact: 29 of the nation's top 50 basketball players for 1990-91 aren't projected to qualify.

Are football players smarter than basketball players? There is no evidence that football players are smarter. Are basketball players more interested in playing 70 games each summer? Well . . .
