Sources say Marshall Field's management group has consulted
landlord JMB Realty Corp. and First Chicago Corp. on its pending bid
for the store, but Field's chairman stressed Monday that his
financial backing isn't settled.
"I will neither confirm nor deny who our potential partners are,
because nothing can be finalized until we get the offering document
next week from Goldman Sachs (Field parent BATUS' investment
