Geraldine Blume; Nun, Teacher, Principal

Sister Geraldine Blume, 66, an educator and member of the religious order of Sisters of the Holy Cross, died of pneumonia and renal failure Dec. 8 at Holy Cross Hospital.

Sister Geraldine was principal of Academy of the Holy Cross in Kensington from 1982 to 1990. She had taught English there for a year before she became principal.

From 1991 to 1999, she was an English teacher and director of admissions at McNamara High School in Forestville. For the last three years, she was area coordinator for the Sisters of the Holy Cross in this region.
