Ron Powers still tries to improve `rotten' TV

It's uncanny how many things Ron Powers and I have in common.

We're both from the Midwest. Powers used to have the same job here at the Chicago Sun-Times that I now hold. We both share a love for reading. We both teach courses on the college level.

And Powers has won a Pulitzer Prize - for his television criticism in 1973.

Although I have not won a Pulitzer, I've known a few people who have. Does that count?
