Some 90 full-time beer truck drivers walked off the job Wednesday at three West Side beer distributorships as Teamsters members waged a limited strike to protest the latest contract offer made by the Chicago area's 27 beer wholesalers.

An official of Teamsters Local 744 said there may be more walkouts this week because officials of the Chicago Beer Wholesalers Association "refused to meet until next week" with a federal mediator. That meeting is scheduled for Monday afternoon.
