Pete Seeger welcomes folk-music newcomers

Every decade or so, Pete Seeger hears the talk about yet another
resurgence of folk music. Lately, the buzz is surrounding new
artists Tracy Chapman and Michelle Shocked.
What it really means, Seeger said, is that pop music has
rediscovered its roots - again.
"When some talented young person who is related to folk music
comes along, it means that pop music is rediscovering some kind of
