Midwest proposes 2nd trade session

The Midwest Stock Exchange, in an attempt to capture a share of the after-hours trading of U.S. stocks, is proposing a second computerized trading session, officials announced last week.

The new trading session, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., will be for the trading of portfolios and not for individual customers, said vice president Roger Hendrick.

The Midwest exchange is currently open from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Most of the stocks traded on the exchange are also traded on the New York Stock Exchange.
