Oraibi wins featured Malibu at Santa Anita

ARCADIA, Calif. Oraibi won his fourth straight race Monday when he prevailed by three-quarters of a length in the $115,550 Malibu Stakes, the feature race on opening day of the 90-day winter thoroughbred meeting at Santa Anita.

In the race to the wire in this seven-furlong battle before an opening-day crowd of 65,164, Oraibi, ridden by Laffit Pincay, beat Perceive Arrogance, ridden by Angel Cordero Jr., who flew to California for this event.
