Aretha Franklin reaches a turning point

TRENTON, N.J. With a new road show and a new greatest-hits album, Aretha Franklin shows no sign of slowing down after 27 years in show business.

Franklin's new show includes the soul, gospel and pop hits that made her famous. She also offers a few show tunes, including "I Dreamed a Dream" from "Les Miserables."

Her new album on Arista Records, to be released next month, will feature five new songs and her best-selling Arista hits. She joined Arista in 1980 after a successful affiliation with the Atlantic label.
