First frame over for Champs

The first stage of Beat The Champions is over.

An estimated 100,000 persons paid $1 each to bowl last week in the Chicago Sun-Times/BPA event at 153 area centers.

The one-time entry fee will go to charity, adding to the $1.6 million donated to area causes the last 27 years.
