Those who knew Dian Fossey are never at a loss to describe her,
though they often differ wildly on the terms.
Was she misanthropic or just misunderstood? Enormously
dedicated to the conservation of rare mountain gorillas or cruel and
half-insane from her self-imposed exile in the African bush?
There is one point of agreement: Because of Dian Fossey,
Africa's mountain gorillas have thus far escaped extinction at the
hands of man and have come to be understood not as King Kon...
