Jordon dropping West Bank aid // Opens door to PLO controls

AMMAN Jordan announced on Thursday it has abandoned its West Bank development plan to end PLO and Arab criticism that the kingdom was trying to win influence among Palestinians in the Israeli-occupied territories.

The government news agency Petra said Palestine Liberation Organization Chairman Yasser Arafat had requested the move to end questions about Jordanian policy on the West Bank.
