Arthur Young sues 5 partners // Claims they planned to quit, take clients

Arthur Young & Co. has filed a lawsuit against five of its Chicago partners, alleging they planned to leave the accounting firm and take part of its Midwest consulting practice with them.

The partners - Albert Beedie, Joyce Bennis, Woodrow Chamberlain, Roderick Walker and D. Michael Meyers - were asked to resign "for cause" earlier this week, said Arthur Young Vice Chairman John J. Schornack. Two other employees just below the level of partner also were fired but were not named in the lawsuit.
