Gillette investor group sues over `greenmail' pact

BOSTON A group of Gillette Co. shareholders is seeking a preliminary injunction in federal court against provisions of a "greenmail" agreement between the company and Revlon Group Chairman Ronald Perelman.

Gillette, which last fall rebuffed a Perelman takeover bid, last week rejected his renewed $4.7 billion offer for the company.

The shareholders' motion, filed in U.S. District Court Monday, seeks to enjoin enforcement of the "standstill" provision of a Nov. 24 agreement ...
