Cowley blast riles Sox

Joe Cowley didn't make many friends when he was with the White Sox - and he apparently aims to keep it that way.

The pitcher, traded to Philadelphia for outfielder Gary Redus during spring training, lashed out at the White Sox in general and pitcher Richard Dotson in particular in last Wednesday's Louisville Courier-Journal.

Cowley, 0-4 with a 15.43 ERA as a Phillie before being sent to Class AAA Maine, was quoted extensively regarding his days in Chicago.

"I'm an easy-going guy," Cowley said. "It just wasn't a very friendly team."
