50 years later, witnesses recall Hindenburg tragedy // Era of airships ends in horror

On May 6, 1937, the largest airship ever produced, the
Hindenburg, exploded as it approached the Lakehurst Naval Air Station
in New Jersey. In less than 40 seconds, 36 people were dead.
Although five decades have past, the memories of the tragedy are
still vivid to those who witnessed it.
