The space history hangar at the National Air and Space Museum annex in Northern Virginia will be named after aviation pioneer James S. McDonnell, Smithsonian Institution officials said.

The James S. McDonnell Space Hangar, scheduled to open in December 2003 as part of the complex at Dulles International Airport, will house the space shuttle Enterprise, the Gemini 7 spacecraft flown by astronauts Frank Borman and James Lovell in 1965, and about 135 other large artifacts of space history...
