Soviet foreign minister leaves Mexico with invitation for Gorbachev to visit

MEXICO CITY (UPI) Soviet Foreign Minister Eduard Shevardnadze
left yesterday for a brief stop in Cuba en route to Moscow after an
unprecedented three-day visit here that included praise for Mexico
and condemnation of the United States.
Shevardnadze, the first Soviet foreign minister to visit Mexico,
departed with President Miguel de la Madrid Hurtado's reciprocal
invitation to Soviet leader Mikhail S. Gorbachev to visit Mexico.
