`Out of Africa' spurs a safari to Blixen home
|
KAREN, Kenya On a rainy Sunday afternoon, I rode with friends out of
Nairobi along Ngong Road to this suburb to visit the home of Out of
Africa author Isak Dinesen, now the Karen Blixen Museum. (Dinesen was
her maiden name, Isak her nom-de-plume, Blixen her married name).
The home where she lived from 1917 until leaving Africa in 1931
has only been open to the public since late February, a few weeks
before the movie version of "Out of Africa" won seven Academy Awards
including Best Pic...
