Oysters on birth control skip `r' months
|
Tradition and taste are the main reasons I've avoided eating oysters
in the summertime. But the other day I learned that researchers are
figuring out ways to lower these barriers to year-round oyster
eating.
Traditionally, the good times of the year for oysters have been
the cool-weather months, those with an "r" in their names.
Part of this tradition stems from the fact that years ago these
were the only months oysters could be shipped to market without fear
