Khomeini foes leave France

PONTOISE, France About 1,000 Iranian opposition Mujahedeen activists slipped out of France in recent weeks and have established resistance bases in Iraq, said a statement issued by the group yesterday.

Their leader, Massoud Rajavi, left Paris Saturday and flew to Baghdad to join them.

The statement, mentioning a "new stage in preparation for the general uprising" against Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, said the decision for Rajavi to leave had been taken by the National Iranian Resistance Council, which Rajavi heads.
