The Soviet nuclear disaster raises concerns about the hazards of radiation. In a series of interviews with experts, including Edward W. Webster, chief of radiation sciences at Massachusetts General Hospital and a professor at Harvard Medical School in Boston, United Press International compiled the following explanations:
