Experts hammer library site

Library experts from as far off as Minneapolis and Dallas have
weighed in with ripping criticism of the plan to convert the
Goldblatt building into a new central library.
But proponents - led by Commissioner John B. Duff and firms that
are working on the $100 million renovation project - outnumbered
critics at the City Council's belated, first-ever hearing on the
four-year-old proposal this week.
