PASADENA, Calif. The hardy little spacecraft Voyager 2 scooted
past the distant planet Uranus on schedule at noon, Chicago time,
yesterday to make it three for three in its unprecedented dash
through the outer solar system.
Flashing across the face of the 32,000-mile-diameter planet at a
distance of 50,679 miles above the cloud tops, Voyager picked up
speed from Uranus' powerful gravity field and headed toward its
