LANGUEDOC-ROUSSILLON stretches from Provence in the east along the Mediterranean coast to the Spanish border with its strong Catalan influence.

It includes parts of the Pyrenees and Rhone Valley, several impressive historic cities and two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the walled city of Carcassonne and the Canal du Midi.

Climate

The region has a Mediterranean climate with average temperatures of 19 degrees Celsius and a reputed 300 days of sunshine every year.
