Best and worst

Every pupil at Bexley Grammar School scored at least five Cs in
their GCSE exams that included English and maths last year. Thirty-
seven state and private schools achieved a 100 per cent success rate
but Bexley came top by virtue of having the largest number of pupils
reaching this level. Headmaster Roderick MacKinnon said achievement
was boosted by offering the International Baccalaureate - seen as
tougher than A-levels - in the sixth form.
