A Motto That Welcomes; Loudoun Schools Offered Posters That Declare 'E Pluribus Unum'

A local citizen's group has offered to donate posters with the motto "E pluribus unum" to all Loudoun County schools, in response to a new Virginia law requiring schools to post the official national motto "In God we trust" in a prominent place.

Group leaders said the Latin motto is a historical way to represent the goal of American unity and a good balance to "In God we trust," which they said might be offensive to some students.
