North and South Korean warships exchanged fire in the Yellow Sea
today, killing four South Korean sailors and injuring 18, the South
Korean military said.
A South Korean patrol boat sank in the 20-minute clash, said army
Lt. Gen. Lee Sang Hee, chief operations officer for the Joint Chiefs
of Staff. He blamed North Korea for the incident and said his
government was discussing possible countermeasures. He did not
